Iris Cup Event Format

Two Teams - Team Purple and Team White

All participants will be assigned to a team.

The format is a 2-person scramble. Each foursome will have 2 members from each team.

How to earn points?

  • Win a hole. In your foursome, when your team net score is lower than the other team's net score, win a point.

  • Tie a hole. Score ½ a point when the teams have the same net score on a hole.

  • On the longest drive hole, hit the longest drive in your foursome, earn a point for your team.

  • On the closest to the pin hole, be the closest to the pin in your foursome, earn a point for your team.

  • On the Dixon golf hole, accept the challenge and hit the green. All players who hit the green on their tee shot will earn a point for their team.  Plus the team will score an automatic Birdie!

  • On the hit the fairway hole, hit the fairway with your tee shot, earn a point for your team.  All players who hit the fairway with their tee shot on the designated hole earn a point for their team.

Mulligan - $5 each. Each competitor may buy up to 4 Mulligans (that is up to 8 for a 2 person team). Use the mulligan for an extra scramble shot at any time.

Each player tees off.  Each team then decides which tee shot is better and both team members play their second shots from that spot. Each team then selects the better second shot and plays their third shots from that spot.  This continues until each team has holed the ball.  This procedure is repeated for all 18 holes.

Except for the Green and all Hazards, the team is allowed no more than one club length, no closer to the hole, from the spot selected by the team as the better shot. The club length cannot substantially change or alter the original lie of the ball, i.e. cannot drop or place onto the Green, get into or out of the Native into the Rough, or get out of the rough into the Fairway. Team members are allowed to rake for each shot out of a Bunker.

On the Green, the Team is allowed to place the Ball no further away than a putter head length, no closer to the hole. Team members may stand in line of putt.

At the end of each hole, each team will record the team gross score. The gross score at the end of the round will be adjusted and points awarded to the team with the lower net score on each hole.

The TWO-PERSON SCRAMBLE format is TEAM NET SCORE.

Players without handicap will be asked to submit their gross score for the last few rounds they have played (9 or 18 holes) and will be assigned a provisional handicap.
